Welcome to the Web Site of the Central Hudson Valley Football Officials Association, Inc (CHVFOA).

Our organization is a member of the New York State Association of Certified Football Officials. Our mission is to promote football within our region and to provide certified football officials for high schools in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam (partial), Rockland, Sullivan, and Ulster counties within New York State. Our territory includes all of Section IX and part of Section I.

If you have any information that you would like added to the website (documents, links, etc) or if you have questions about the chapter, web site, etc, please send them to the Web Site Administrator using the contact us form to the right. September 1, 2010 - Updated the Chapter Roster.

August 30, 2010 - Members are reminded that if there is a serious or suspected serious injury that they complete a liability alert form. You can copy and submit the form provided or you can complete the online database form in the memebers only section that places a copy in a database and you can also print it and sent to Dennis.
In addition there is an online PDF form that you can print, complete, and send to Dennis.

August 20, 2010 - Added two new documents to the site under Documents - 2010. The Concussion Rule Clarification and the Local Modifications to the NYS Modfied Rules which were e-mailed today. Also added the NYS Approved Additional Signals to the same location.  

Congratulations to Joe Pantaleo on being named an  Honorary Lifetime Member of the CHVFOA.

August 10, 2010 - Added three quizes for the sectional meetings to the chapter documents section. Quiz 1 | Quiz 2 | Quiz 3

August 7, 2010 - Added links to the  Aloha Officials Clinic Web Site and to each of the 12 training videos that they produced. They are excellent for learning tool. Several of these are on the agenda for your sectional meetings.

July 16, 2010 - Preliminary Chapter Roster now online. Please contact Dennis Geisler with any updates you may have.

July 10, 2010 - August meetings have been moved to Newburgh Free Academy and the Interpretion Meetings time moved forward to 7:00pm.

June 24, 2010 - Former member Jimmy Walker passed away recently in Cooperstown while on a trip from North Carolina to watch his grandson play baseball.

June 4, 2010 - NYSPHSAA Heat Guidelines used by all schools in Section I and Section IX.

June 2, 2010 - Warwick High School is again hosting a 7 on 7 passing tournament on June 12th and is looking for officials to volunteer. Please contact Coach James Sciarra by phone at the school (845) 987-3050 x 2106 or on his cell at (845) 987-6902.

May 29, 2010 - The Orange County Sectional Meeting Scheduled for Thursday September 16th has been changed. The new date is Thursday September 2nd and the new location is the New Windsor Town Hall located at 555 Union Avenue. The printable meeting schedule has also been updated.
Note that the web site was down for about an hour today for an upgrade to the backend software. Sorry for any inconvenienve this may have caused you.

March 23, 2010 - 2010 Chapter Meeting Schedule approved and posted to the Documents - 2010 Section.

February 28, 2010 - Added the NFHS Press Release detailing 2010 Rule Changes to the Chapter Documents Section.

February 2, 2010 - Added a link on player safety and targeting of a defenseless player to the Plays of Interest Forum.

January 31, 2010 - Final 2009 Section IX Ratings posted in PDF Format (and the 2009 Chapter Documents section) Section I ratings will be posted when they are made available to us.

The Lehigh Valley Collegiate Football Officials Clinic will be held in Allentown PA on April 16th and 17th. The brochure can be found here.

Prospective Officals 2011

The 2010 Rules Clinic and Exam for New Candidates has been completed with 17 men becoming Cadet Members.

If you are interesting in becoming a football official, the 2011 Sessions for Prospective Officials will be held in the late spring of 2011. Please check back here in early 2010 to view the meeting schedule.
